I'm glad you did this. Besides the broken flower pots on the steps and cobwebs on the front desk, the walk to the main entrance was very overgrown. I think all this is to signify that there had been NO visitors to the B&B (the only hotel in Storybrooke) until Emma checked in. I do think Regina & Graham trysted there, tho, so you could find more interior shots in "The Price of Gold" episode if you want them.
Those were my thoughts as well. The rundown condition was a way of telling us no one has ever been there. The reactions of Ruby and Granny were also telling.
What are those pewter statues? It reminds me of Belle from Beauty and the Beast. The red heart reminds me of Alice in Wonderland.

Along with the statues, there are quite a few bells on the reception desk. I wonder if that could also be hinting at Belle somehow?

ReplyDeleteI've been thinking of Emma being Alice, and how weird that you noticed the red heart! So interesting.
ReplyDeleteThe key thingy also reminded me of alice in wonderland . . . There is a flamingo, and the Queen of Hearts used Flamingos as Croquet mallots.
ReplyDeleteI thought the key was of a swan. . .
ReplyDeleteTo me, is a swan too... make sense!
DeleteBTW I was watching the Audio Comentary of Once Upon A Time's DVD, Pilot episode, and they said Granny knitted Emma's baby blanket!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I just thought of this. Maybe the blanket will trigger Granny's memories since it didn't work with Snow.
Another commenter suspected it but thanks for confirming it Emma's Baby Blanket page has been updated.
