Mary Margaret Blanchard's Apartment
The overall look in Mary Margaret's apartment is quaint and rustic. Lots and lots of white.
She has a thing for birds like Snow White.

Lots of clocks like Henry
The letter M.
Is this a subtle, subliminal way the Evil Queen is keeping Snow in Mary Margaret mode?

I would kill for an apartment like this. It's so pretty, and I love the details in the set.
ReplyDeleteI love that appartement very much as well..It's bathing in sunlight (well fake sunlight but still!)
ReplyDeleteI feel like the 'M's in her apartment are just for her name. I doubt that the EQ had anything to do with the decorations in her apartment.
ReplyDeleteThere are other birds in Mary Margaret's apartment besides the big black bird. There's a little blue bird on her sugar bowl (top picture). It also looks like a pair of birds sitting on something behind the M. Plus I've spotted a deer on one of her end tables.
ReplyDeleteAnd I don't think those are mirrors. They look more like picture frames, which fits since I think Mary Margaret does needlepoint or something as she did in the second episode when Emma dropped by to pay her back the bail money.
The episode where she's washing dishes(The Shepard?)- I swear I saw a Disney logo on the back of her plates....
ReplyDelete@Stephanie - You're right. Good eye.
ReplyDeleteThe shirt that MM is wearing in the 2nd and 8th picture down, I want it. What style of shirt is that called? I want to make one myself and would love to find a pattern! Maybe someone can help me?
ReplyDeleteDo you mean the white/cream one? its called a batwing or bat wing top. with three-quarter length sleeeves which most batwing tops have.
Deleteit would probably be considered a tunic....
ReplyDeleteI feel like the "M" in her apartment is a nod to the Mary Tyler Moore show. I know it's a bit of a stretch (esp since MTM was a CBS show and had nothing to do with Disney), but that is one of the things you always saw was that "M" on Mary Richards' wall in the first apartment she had in the show, and then in a later season when she moved to a larger apartment, there is a great scene where you see her proudly hanging the "M" in her new apartment. It sort of signifies her independence in having her own place and making it on her own as a single gal...and well, isn't that what Mary Margaret is doing after all? Despite the curse having ripped away her true love, MM is a strong yet kind woman who is making it just fine. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is my dream apartment!! I love all the little details and finishings from anthropologie that I notice around the place too! If only I could find and affordable, pet friendly apartment in NY with exposed brick walls..... hmmmmm.... The search begins!!!
ReplyDeleteso cute! please post more :)
ReplyDeleteHer apartment looks like it's straight out of an Anthropologie store! Love it!
ReplyDeletedo anyone know what this style called?
ReplyDeleteI think it is called shabby chic.
ReplyDeleteIf you have time I would love for you to update this with some screen caps from when Emma was searching their apartment in Heart of Darkness. She has bird figurines on the corner shelf, and it looks like she's keeping a married couple, a bell and some other brick-a-brac under large glass bells like the one Snow used to capture Jiminy in that episode.
ReplyDeleteIn the 1st pic, the painting above her fireplace is of a bird in a nest. :)
ReplyDeletelooks like Henry got his clock collection from MM ! (see the 2nd pic from the top)
ReplyDeleteHer apartment is so cute!
ReplyDeleteMary Margaret looks like she is sneaking out from behind that post with breakfast. :D
I like how the visuals of initials MM, mirror so closely, the name Emma, which backwards is, "Am Me." Noticed all those glass bell-jars and bells on cabinet with clocks. Makes me wonder if the set designer is into Sylvia Plath.
ReplyDeleteFor a Shabby Chic take on old brick factory, loft living...not too shabby.
I would love to see what Emma's bedroom looks like! They haven't shown it yet though :( I think it's a loft. There is a ladder I THINK... have I seen a ladder? Am I crazy?
ReplyDeleteGOD I love this show.
She has 2 mugs with the letter "M" on them as well - both from Anthropologie in case you want one for yourself :)
ReplyDeletethe big blackbird is there because Emma is the golden blackbird :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like Tildas house!
